Drink Alcohol To Strengthens Bones
According to a U.S. medical study, have a drink or two of alcohol a day would strengthen the bones, although more than two drinks may increase the risk of fractures.
In our survey, men and women who took one half to one drink a day were 20 percent less likely than abstainers to suffer a hip fracture, while those who drank more than two drinks were, by contrast, a risk major.
“The overall message is that moderate drinking good for the bones and that the key is moderation,” said Dr. Berg, head of the study.
To better understand this relationship, the medical team identified those high-quality published studies on the effects of alcohol consumption on bone health and discussed the combination of the results, finding that compared with nondrinkers, moderate drinkers had higher bone density in a linear relationship. Furthermore, moderate drinking is a sign of other moderate behaviors or habits that are good for bones, as a balanced, nutritious diet.
IMPORTANT: The doctors also warn that people who do not drink should not start doing it to benefit their bones due to other risks that are associated with drinking.
