- Via blood: Sharing injection equipment carries a high risk of infection. Today this practice is limited almost exclusively to people who inject illegal drugs. Prevention focuses on the use of injection equipment (syringe and needle) of an individual single-use container or correct sterilization each new use.

Most STDs affect both men and women, but in many cases causing their health problems may be more severe in women.

If a pregnant woman suffering from sexually transmitted diseases, can cause serious health problems for babies.

If you have an STD caused by bacteria or parasites, doctors can treat with antibiotics or other drugs. If you have an STD caused by a virus, there is no cure.
