- For sexually: Whenever you have penetrative sex (anal, vaginal or oral) and is not known whether any of the people is HIV-positive or not, should be used properly condoms as a preventive method. Today, every day, 14,000 people infected with HIV worldwide, and nearly 90% of new infections are sexually transmitted.
- Via blood: Sharing injection equipment carries a high risk of infection. Today this practice is limited almost exclusively to people who inject illegal drugs. Prevention focuses on the use of injection equipment (syringe and needle) of an individual single-use container or correct sterilization each new use.
- For perinatally: If a woman decides to get pregnant HIV + will have to bear in mind that going to be a risky pregnancy. As must conduct a rigorous medical follow the same, knowing that there are treatments that reduce the risk of transmitting HIV to your baby.

It is the human immunodeficiency virus. Virus, because this organism is unable to reproduce on its own (it does when it invades human cells). Immunodeficiency is because the effect of HIV is to create a deficiency, an impediment to the proper functioning of the body’s immune system. And man, because the virus can only be contracted by humans.

HIV is the virus that, according to most researchers, causes AIDS (as referred to VHI as the AIDS virus). Others believe that this virus can cause AIDS only if given in combination with a cofactor, which is a virus or some other yet unidentified condition.

To fully understand the risks involved have AIDS, you should know that HIV transmission can occur three conditions must be:

1. HIV must be present: namely, that HIV can be transmitted only if a person is a carrier of it. Some assume that certain behaviors (such as anal sex) by itself can cause AIDS, which is totally wrong.

2. There must be enough virus: even when there is HIV, how important is the concentration that has it. In the blood the virus is highly concentrated, so a small amount of it is enough to infect someone.

3. HIV must enter the bloodstream: it is not enough to have been in contact with an infected fluid to contract the virus. The skin does not allow HIV to enter the body. HIV can enter only through a new wound or injury, or through contact with mucous membranes.

It is estimated that hospitals spend up to 2.5 times more energy in its operation to an office building of the same characteristics. In addition, health centers are large consumers of resources and waste producers, and what is worse, many of their toxic waste.

But Health Care Without Harm is an international coalition that seeks to change this. Together, hospitals and health systems, health professionals and environmental organizations, working to transform the sector worldwide health care so that it is ecologically sustainable and no longer be a source of harm to humans and the environment .

Why is it important to get all hospitals to be ‘green’?
The problem is trying to combat Health Care Without Harm, could be summarized as follows:

Hospital waste can cause pollution and disease if they are not handled properly. Infectious waste, particularly sharps, a risk for those who may come into contact with them.

According to estimates by the World Health Organization (WHO), 40% of cases of hepatitis and 12% of HIV cases worldwide are due to exposure in the work environment.

Hospitals also generate chemical waste, radioactive pharmaceuticals, all in small quantities, which require special handling.

In hospitals also generated large amounts of common waste such as packaging, paper, food, etc.., Which may account for about 80% of the waste stream. A large hospital can produce up to one tonne of waste per day.

The Health Care Without Harm guides are covered issues such as proper handling of hospital waste, the dangers of mercury use, alternatives, and disposal of hazardous materials such as PVC and phthalates. Also, broader issues such as sustainable architecture, hospital food, proper use of electronic equipment and use of cleaning products.

On the one hand states that uncircumcised men have a lower risk of acquiring human papillomavirus (HPV), but a new study shows that, in them, the elimination of the virus in the body takes longer.

“The study shows that the apparent protective effect of circumcision against infection with HPV does not include a decline in new infections, but a greater ability to remove existing infections,” say researchers from the Cancer Research Center of Hawaii, in the Journal of Infectious Diseases.

According to Dr. Brenda Y. says Hernandez, head of research, since HPV can cause genital warts and certain cancers, the results of this new study provide an explanation as to why uncircumcised men are at high risk of penile cancer.

Previous studies have indicated that circumcision reduces the possibility for men to develop penile cancer and of infection with HPV and HIV. Moreover, since the partners of uncircumcised men are at high risk of developing cervical cancer, the team believed that circumcision may also alter the spread of the virus.

According to the authors of the study, the transmission of HPV between sexual partners may be more likely in men who did not undergo a circumcision, as the infection stays in them longer. Anyway, point remains to be demonstrated whether circumcision helps eliminate the virus.

AIDS is a condition caused by a virus called HIV (HIV) which is attacking the body’s immune system, which serves as a monitoring force the body to attack any infection or a virus.

So when the virus that attacks the immune system, the human body loses this protection he enjoyed and so can infect the body with many viruses and cancers easily.

The infections called opportunistic infections, because they exploit the opportunity to hit the immune system is weak. We can say that a person died of AIDS, he died as a result of damage to any viruses or cancers for the work of the immune system which protects the body as a result of attack of the virus (HIV ) the immune system.

You can always remember three things:

You can avoid contracting AIDS.

It is difficult to AIDS.

There are steps to avoid contracting AIDS.

Who is at risk?
Some people vulnerable to HIV, such as homosexuals.
AIDS is not different from the place where it exists in all races and people of different ages.
However there are different ways to combat the disease, prevention and control of pain is our only weapon now.

How is the virus (HIV)?
Virus is spread through body fluids of different:
Blood, semen, vaginal secretions and breast milk.
As for (saliva, sweat and tears), there is no specific evidence that the virus is spread by them.
Attending the virus (HIV) human body through mucous membranes (the walls of the rectum, the walls of the vagina or inside the mouth and throat) or by direct contact with contaminated blood.
Virus does not penetrate the skin, except in case of wounds in the skin friction and the occurrence of other people’s blood is contaminated.
May have also spread the virus through the air by sneezing or coughing.
So no risk to the handling of natural between people and injured other people.

How did the infection (HIV)?
Some people put themselves on the list of people exposed to HIV infection.
So what does it makes you vulnerable to infection or not.

The behavior that puts you on the list:
Sexual intercourse with someone carrying the virus without adequate protection.
Protection here means that the use of condoms by any means of communication or the different status of men and women.
All kinds of sexual intercourse without protection enough to lead to the spread of the virus.
Sexual intercourse with someone carrying the virus are most conducive to the spread of disease.

The use of needles among people and injured another man led to the spread of the virus, or people who eat any type of drug through the needle is probably their infection through sexual contact.

Also means the transfer of blood carrying the virus, there are new methods to detect the presence of the virus from infected blood by radiation rather than taking a blood sample.

The last method may be infected with the virus is the way to do it. Where can infect the child before or after birth through the mother’s HIV infection, or through breastfeeding.
Not transmit the virus through the regular relationship between people, such as handling or use of tissue paper or the telephone, or participating in a food.
Sharing your life with people with AIDS will not lead to an infection only in cases of sexual intercourse or the use of needles or other injection common to them.

Symptoms of infection (HIV):
About 50% to 90% of new HIV infection (HIV) has symptoms similar to flu symptoms, enlargement of thyroid gland or skin rash, which the body trying to fight this virus attack. The health crisis Small can be a great opportunity to try to avoid the confusion that occurs during the immune system in the body.

People living with HIV (HIV) is holding back for years to take a step of treatment. However you feel you have a virus (HIV) in the first week of infection, there are many reasons to try to make you accelerated treatment. Since the beginning of treatment infection can change the course of the disease.
However, no treatment at the beginning, the case of the virus moving too fast in the first few months, where the virus enters the body and multiplies in the relevant cells.
Up virus (HIV) as the most significant in the first few months of disease.
The more time passes the chances of treatment is weaker and less. Where the work in strengthening the immune system since the beginning of the disease in the first week can make the virus can not be the immune system even more.
The experience of treating virus (HIV) to date, and a group of patients who underwent the experience of treatment is very small, but they managed to stay low proportion of virus in the body for year. But does not yet know how long the treatment effects of the virus or it is a treatment for patients are given the opportunity to live another few years.
But if an individual feels that he has symptoms of the virus (HIV) he will resort to a doctor immediately ..
