Prevention of HIV

- For sexually: Whenever you have penetrative sex (anal, vaginal or oral) and is not known whether any of the people is HIV-positive or not, should be used properly condoms as a preventive method. Today, every day, 14,000 people infected with HIV worldwide, and nearly 90% of new infections are sexually transmitted.
- Via blood: Sharing injection equipment carries a high risk of infection. Today this practice is limited almost exclusively to people who inject illegal drugs. Prevention focuses on the use of injection equipment (syringe and needle) of an individual single-use container or correct sterilization each new use.
- For perinatally: If a woman decides to get pregnant HIV + will have to bear in mind that going to be a risky pregnancy. As must conduct a rigorous medical follow the same, knowing that there are treatments that reduce the risk of transmitting HIV to your baby.

What is HIV?

width="280"It is the human immunodeficiency virus. Virus, because this organism is unable to reproduce on its own (it does when it invades human cells). Immunodeficiency is because the effect of HIV is to create a deficiency, an impediment to the proper functioning of the body’s immune system. And man, because the virus can only be contracted by humans.

Sexually Transmitted Virus of Men

On the one hand states that uncircumcised men have a lower risk of acquiring human papillomavirus (HPV), but a new study shows that, in them, the elimination of the virus in the body takes longer.

“The study shows that the apparent protective effect of circumcision against infection with HPV does not include a decline in new infections, but a greater ability to remove existing infections,” say researchers from the Cancer Research Center of Hawaii, in the Journal of Infectious Diseases.

According to Dr. Brenda Y. says Hernandez, head of research, since HPV can cause genital warts and certain cancers, the results of this new study provide an explanation as to why uncircumcised men are at high risk of penile cancer.

AIDS
AIDS is a condition caused by a virus called HIV (HIV) which is attacking the body’s immune system, which serves as a monitoring force the body to attack any infection or a virus.

So when the virus that attacks the immune system, the human body loses this protection he enjoyed and so can infect the body with many viruses and cancers easily.

The infections called opportunistic infections, because they exploit the opportunity to hit the immune system is weak. We can say that a person died of AIDS, he died as a result of damage to any viruses or cancers for the work of the immune system which protects the body as a result of attack of the virus (HIV ) the immune system.
