And if you have asthma or allergies to dust or pollen, avoid exposure to tobacco snuff (perhaps during the celebrations abound), and do not stay long in indoor where there is also the possibility of accumulation of strong odors as perfumes, air fresheners or pet hair.

If you are having a meeting at your house these days, and some of your guests (or family) have allergies, take the following measures:

* Avoid people smoke inside the house, and not pollute the environment. If the guests there is a smoker, ask them to smoke outside your home.
* Offer non-alcoholic beverages (juice, fruit punch, sodas or soft drinks versions).
* Reduce the use of candles and air fresheners, especially if the venue is closed.
* If you offer dishes or salads with seafood or eggs prepared any alternative other meats, or salad greens.
* Keep on hand a counter antihistamine like benadryl (diphenhydramine) in case of need.
* Learn to recognize symptoms of an allergic attack, itching, coughing, sneezing and runny nose. If there is scratchy throat and difficulty breathing, immediately call the emergency number.

Alcohol can, in moderation, make your party a success, or excesses, to spoil, causing intoxication or allergies. Take precautions to ensure that all your guests are satisfied and happy, without unnecessary complications to health.

If you mix a little wine with some allergies and asthma get a bit of a drink can cause explosive reactions hazardous to health. We’re not talking about the effects that can cause a glass too many, but the impact of alcohol trigger other allergies such as food. This holiday season, before giving, make sure no one has allergies and offers alternatives.

Alcoholic beverages such as wine and beer are never lacking in family gatherings or with friends, especially in these times in which mostly festive gatherings and celebrations. However, it is possible that not all can provide alcohol nor eat whatever is served. Why? Why are there people with allergies.

According to a press release from the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, ACAAI), some people are allergic to alcohol itself (which is rare), while others are allergic to various substances that are part of the formula of the alcoholic beverage, such as barley, ethanol, grapes, malt, hops (an ingredient in beer), wheat, yeast, egg white (which can be used for the filtering process) and sulfites in wine that occur naturally but can also be added as preservatives.

How do you identify allergy to alcohol? Symptoms may be a rash (rash), runny nose, sneezing, and relatively harmless, to something more serious, like an asthma attack or anaphylaxis (severe allergic reaction that causes severe symptoms such as shortness of breath and can even cause death).

ACAAI experts, however, not only warn of the possible allergic reaction to alcohol, but warn that it may even increase the individual’s sensitivity to potential allergic reactions to foods and even asthma. The food allergy is more common, and usually the most common allergens are wheat, soybeans (soybeans), dairy products, nuts such as peanuts (peanut) or peanuts, fish and shellfish.

The most common are rhinitis or “hay fever or pollen, which is an inflammation of the mucous membranes that occurs when allergens touch the walls of the nose. Following this, there are plenty of sneezing, congestion, runny and itchy nose, palate, throat, eyes and ears.

The big problem with an allergy, is that if not addressed properly, these symptoms may progress to chronic respiratory disease such as asthma.

How do I know what causes my allergies?
A health professional can diagnose allergies after a detailed clinical history and physical examination. If necessary, you can perform additional diagnostic tests, such as a skin test or blood.

How can I control my allergies?
Avoid contact with common indoor allergens (such as pet dander, dust mites and mold), it is easier, but when it comes to dealing with outdoor allergens is necessary to consult a specialist to you assist in developing a plan to control their allergies. This may involve taking medicine.

Dr. Gustavo Acosta Altamirano, director of the Clinic for Immunodiagnosis of Mexico City, warns that it is important to go to the doctor and to proactively implement such Pidotimod immunomodulators that help prevent and avoid health complications. The expert also noted the need to avoid self-medication, analgesics, excessive antiobióticos and antihistamines, as these can have a sedative effect and affect the cardiovascular health of the person suffering from allergies.

Your child’s doctor can not identify the specific virus causing cold symptoms, but examine your throat and ears and can even tell a throat (culture) to ensure that symptoms are not due to a medical condition that may require specific treatment. (If after about 3 days, your child’s symptoms get worse instead of better, you may be suffering from strep throat, sinusitis, pneumonia or bronchitis, especially if your child or teen smokes).

Taking a throat culture is a simple and painless procedure, which involves brushing the inside of the throat with a long cotton swab. The analysis of the germs that stick to the swab will help the doctor determine if your child has strep throat and needs treatment with antibiotics.

If your child’s symptoms last more than a week or come every year for the same period, or every time it is exposed to pollen, dust, animals or other substances, it is possible that your child suffers from allergies. If your child has trouble breathing or wheezing occurs when a cold, could have asthma.

You should also consult your doctor if you think your child may be suffering from something more than a cold, or if your condition gets worse instead of better.

The following are other reasons to communicate with the doctor:

* phlegm coughing up a lot;
* shortness of breath;
* unusual lethargy / tiredness;
* inability to keep food or liquids down or poor fluid intake
* it hurts with increasing intensity the head, face or throat;
* it hurts or throat swells so much that you can not swallow;
* fever of 103 degrees Fahrenheit (39.3 degrees Celsius) or higher, or a fever of 101 degrees Fahrenheit (38.0 Celsius) or higher for more than a day
* pain in your chest or stomach;
* will swell the glands in the neck;
* earache.

As with most viral infections, colds should complete its cycle. Meanwhile, plenty of rest, avoiding vigorous activity and drink plenty of fluids (juice, water or soft drinks without caffeine) help your child feel better.

Surely, going to school or continue with normal activities do not worsen your child’s cold. But it will increase the likelihood of spread to classmates or friends. It is appropriate for your child will leave some of the daily activities until you feel better.
