Risk behaviors
Within the other major group of unhealthy habits we find the risk behaviors. We understand being those that increase the chance of injury or illness. This section is mandatory to mention the three risk behaviors practiced today that more damage and mortality are generated in developed societies:
- Inadequate feeding
- Reckless driving
- The practice of unsafe sex.
Inadequate food
It is considered a poor diet that promotes obesity and diseases such as atherosclerosis, among other possible diseases. A healthy diet is to have this high-fiber foods (whole grain bread, fruits, vegetables, legumes, nuts …) and a proper overall proportion of carbohydrates (50%), fat (30% maximum, and should not exceed saturated the 8% -10%) and protein (15%). Alcohol abuse in our society leads to serious problems for the individual and society for her sensitive impact on the everyday activities of daily life (traffic, work, family …). They are produced by the consumption of a harmful substance which increases the risk of deterioration. Sexually Transmitted Virus of Men
On the one hand states that uncircumcised men have a lower risk of acquiring human papillomavirus (HPV), but a new study shows that, in them, the elimination of the virus in the body takes longer.
“The study shows that the apparent protective effect of circumcision against infection with HPV does not include a decline in new infections, but a greater ability to remove existing infections,” say researchers from the Cancer Research Center of Hawaii, in the Journal of Infectious Diseases.
According to Dr. Brenda Y. says Hernandez, head of research, since HPV can cause genital warts and certain cancers, the results of this new study provide an explanation as to why uncircumcised men are at high risk of penile cancer.
