Is it safe plastic? Phthalates and other components

Safe plasticHave you ever left a plastic bottle with water in the car when it is hot, then you go back take a little water and the water tastes and smells like plastic. If you take the water you’re taking the plastic or at least some part of this.

Say that the plastic in the microwave or cover food with “paper” Is it true that plastic is contaminated? Read it and draw your conclusions because this is a debate.

There are many types of plastics and have thousands of uses. There are plastic as strong as metals and are very fragile. Not all plastics are in debate

Currently one of the biggest debates concerning plastics is one of the compounds called phthalates and phthalates (in English). Phthalates are a family of components for multiple uses including: certain plastics, nail polish, as fijante in fragrances and others.

The debate is that phthalates or toxic phthalates are considered by many as the plastics industry debate are not. At present there is no consensus on this issue.

That phthalates cause damage
They are in discussion the following effects: fertility problems in men and women, asthma, especially in breast cancer and endocrine problems among others. It’s scary but the plastics industry says phthalates have been using for over 50 years. The cosmetics industry says that the quantities used are very small.

Plastics that contain
The most widely used plastics containing phthalates is PVC but some pockets in some countries and even the “paper” plastic food containers can contain them. The PVC plastics are used in construction, pipes, toys, etc is a rigid plastic.

Although technically not contain phthalates also have discussion with the plastic PET (PETE). The PET bottles are used for: soft drinks, water, cosmetics and others.

Discussion of PET is that most affects the consumer, but also the debate with less evidence today. In the case of PET, these plastics have a level of resistance to very low heat so they can begin to evaporate any component when exposed to heat and can penetrate to the substance in the bottle. For this reason we tell you what happens to the principle of letting the water bottle in the car.

Other sources believe that PET is safe and one of the best plastics we have.
