Improving Defenses


The immune system protects us from getting serious diseases
. Look at the list of possible situations that could be causing a drop in the body’s natural defenses.

  • Eat at least three or more than five times per day.
  • Not enough protein each day (about 150 grams of meat, fish, dairy products, pasta, rice or beans).
  • Being too fat or too thin.
  • Losing more than 10 percent of the weight in 3 months for a quick diet.
  • Eat mostly fried foods and foods of little nutritional value.
  • Have activities very demanding mentally, physically or emotionally.
  • Do not eat at least one daily serving of green leafy vegetables and cereals or legumes.
  • Not eating enough antioxidant vitamins such as A, C or E.
  • Limited sleep for a long time.

Warning Signs
Moreover, these are some signs that your defenses may be in need of reinforcements.

  • Cold or get infections more than once every eight weeks and take a long time to recover.
  • Needing antibiotics three times a year.
  • Losing a lot of hair when combing or brushing the head.
  • Lymph nodes (neck, armpits and English) are often swollen.
